Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and implement robust back-end software solutions that support the collection and normalisation of large volumes of global trading data in real‐time and archive modes.
* Translate high‐level architecture and design models into detailed technical specifications and production‐quality code.
* Participate in technical design and functional specification reviews, contributing to project estimates, test plans, code reviews and integration with CI systems such as Jenkins.
* Proactively identify, analyse, and resolve performance bottlenecks and technical issues through profiling using tools such as JProfiler and Yourkit, testing, and root‐cause analysis.
* Troubleshoot problems by analysing code and large data sets using AI tools like GitHub Copilot and Linux commands/scripts, as well as logs using Splunk, Datalog, and Grafana.
* Collaborate with global collaborators and multi‐functional teams to ensure data completeness, accuracy, and resilience across network and server environments.
* Provide technology trends and competitive‐landscape expertise and make technology decisions to drive opportunities and competitive advantage for clients.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* 6+ years of software development experience with strong core Java expertise in a Linux environment.
* Experience with network programming (e.g., TCP/UDP) and low‐level data processing, including byte‐level encoding and decoding.
* Proven ability to work with large data sets, complex data structures, and high‐volume data manipulation and sorting.
* Proficiency in Linux and scripting, as well as in tools such as Git, Confluence, JIRA, and IntelliJ.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in financial markets or trade surveillance environments.
* Familiarity with AWS or comparable cloud platforms.
* Understanding of SaaS platforms and private cloud architecture.
