About the Team
The Commercial team's ambition is to deliver energy transition in Australia at the lowest cost and risk to electricity consumers and government. The ASL commercial team contribute to this through competitive tenders, which deliver timely, high quality, energy infrastructure. For ASL's commercial team this means:
* Working closely with private sector investors to establish relationships of trust. These relationships allow ASL to learn, educate, build awareness and gather insights for tender and product design refinements
* Commercial design of products and contracts (e.g. design LTESA, CISA, FERMA, REZ access rights and in collaboration with government partners)
* Tender design and end-to-end delivery of the tender process for the procurement of energy infrastructure for NSW
* Collaborate with EnergyCo and other government partners to ensure REZ access rights become products capable of tendering
* Design and implement a robust probity framework in the tender process
About the Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal Advisor or Manager, the Analyst, Product & Financial Value is responsible for preparing and assisting with the delivery of key elements of ASL's commercial designs and the tenders. This role has a particular focus on energy market modelling, financial assessments of bids and product design.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Manager(s), Commercial and General Manager Commercial in planning and delivering important aspects of ASL's tenders including commercial designs, tender collateral and tender analysis
* Assist with the evaluation, due diligence and reporting across large numbers of tender submissions in the Financial Value Assessment. This may involve analysis and clearly communicating outcomes to the Manager or Principal Advisor
* Assist with the preparation of high-quality written materials and presentations to facilitate tenders and inform decision making before and during the Financial Value assessment
* Undertake commercial and financial analysis, including on policy positions with high levels of future uncertainty
* Support communication with tender proponents and communicate with other internal and external stakeholders (including government, banks and investors), to deliver ASL commercial objectives
* Develop an understanding of and adheres to standards of governance and probity requirements in accordance with ASL's processes
* Demonstrate and apply basic risk and compliance assessment skills
Skills and Experiences
About You & the Role Responsibilities:
* Demonstrated experience within a similar role, contributing towards the delivery of complex projects or transactions within the renewable energy, private or Government industry. Experience in the energy sector is highly desirable
* Demonstrated experience planning and contributing drafting to complex documents or financial models
* Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and modelling. Experience with other programming languages such as Python is not mandatory, but highly regarded
* Education qualifications in finance, law, engineering, economics or similar and/or equivalent work experience in financing or evaluating energy infrastructure projects
* Strong interest in, and curiosity about, energy transition and/or renewable energy
* Willingness, collaborative and accountable with excellent communication and business acumen
* A solutions, client-oriented attitude and entrepreneurial spirit who thrives in a dynamic working environment
