THE PRAC**
TICE: Our Hills clinic operates from a 24-acre facility located in Echu

n

ga i the

picturesque A

ide Hlls.

We are both ambulatory and clinic-based, committed to delivering hi

g

h qualty and

compassionate care for horses throughout the Adelaide Hills and surro

und

ing regins. Our

practice values teamwork and ensuring a supportive clinic environ

m

ent and e have a

strong emphasis work life balance. Our vets work a 4.5 day week, rarely work outside of the hours of 9-5:30 (except when on call) and receive time off in lieu of weekend and public holidays worked. Our on call commitments are modest, with either a 1 in 6 or 1 in 7 roster depending on vet numbers. Vets are well supported with numerous well trained veterinary nurses and administratio

d receptin staff.

The facility includes patient stabling, yards and paddocks, riding are

up/lunging area and 2 excellent stocks for standing surge

examinations. We are equipped with all the modern portable equi

ment includig 5 digital

radiography machines, multiple video endoscopes

(orthopedic/medical and reproduction), shock wave therapy, m

torized dentalequip

ment

and

an overgound endoscope.

The clientele and caseload is a genuine mix of most equestr

i

an activities inluding racetrack

practice, sport horses, pleasure horses and repr

odu

ctive work. The Adlaide Hills has a

growing population of equestrian and pleasure horses. O

u

r practice is heavly involved in the

racing industry, as well as the performance horse world (strong opportunities to gain experience at the races, the Adelaide 5

iternational events).

The Hills clinic is well supported by Horsemed'sother practice Morphetville Equine Clinic,

a specialist surgical facility located 45 minut

es a

way which includes a bard-certified surgeon

and team of 6 equine veterinarians. The twoclinics work closely tgether and support one

another, and there is the potential for inv

olv

ement across both clinic. Having our specialist

facility so close by means there is no expec

t

ation to hospitalize thoe tricky overnight cases

which ruin your sleep – referral is at you

r fi

ngertips but you can reman in touch with the case.

The Hills practice has had a stable t

e

am of 7 experienced EquineVeterinarians for a number

of years. Unfortunately, we are ha

vin

g to replace 2 of these highy valued members this year,

however neither role is bei

n

cated

due to circumstancs relatedt
o the ro
le or our

practice.

OUR AREA: The Adelaide Hills is a

tunning region, known for itsfood and drink, festivals and

affordable cost of living. Severa

f our vets live in Adelaide cityand commute daily, only staying

in the Hills when on call. Ade

THE POSITION: This role

i

s a full-time Equine Vet (38 hoursper week - 4.5 days) and includes

both ambulator

y a

nd clinic-based cases. The case loadis varied and includes routine farm

calls, la

m

eness examinations, PPE, general surery, racetrack work and reproduction

(natu

ral

, chilled and frozen AI). As we are loing two team members, the opportunity

exists to tai

l

or the position for the right candidat (e.g. primarily racehorse/performan

ce

horse work, complex lameness workups vs

a

more ambulatory role, plus or minus a
focus on reproduction during the season)
