We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Financial Controller to build and lead the finance function from day one. This is not a reviewing role — this is a doing role.
The Opportunity As Financial Controller, you will establish the entire finance infrastructure, ensuring robust reporting, compliance and governance frameworks are in place to support institutional capital.
You will operate as a true business partner while maintaining full ownership of financial control.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and lead the finance function from scratch
* Establish financial reporting frameworks for institutional investors
* Full ownership of Balance Sheet, P&L and Cashflow management
* Prepare reporting and compliance packs for US pension fund stakeholders
* Develop financial controls, governance and regulatory compliance processes
* Lead ERP and financial systems selection and implementation
* Support acquisition due diligence and transaction execution
* Build and mentor a team (hire two accounting staff in year one)
* Partner closely with the Founder on strategic growth initiatives
About You
* Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager within property, real estate, funds management or asset-heavy environments
* Experience reporting to institutional investors, private equity or pension funds highly regarded
* Strong technical accounting capability with hands-on execution mindset
* Experience implementing ERP/finance systems
* Comfortable operating in a start-up or high-growth environment
* Commercially sharp, proactive and solutions-driven
* A builder — not a maintainer
