This is done using a therapeutic suite of services including individual support to parent or child; family counselling or mediation and group work where appropriate to children and their family. to support families where significant child protection concerns have been identified, with the aim of maintaining families where a child remains living at home or reunifying children to their family home where this is in their best interests and assessed by Dept of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety herein referred to as Child Safety.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver the family case plan goals as developed in conjunction with Child Safety.Work in partnership with Child Safety staff and collaborate with other family support services to ensure case plan goals are addressed in a timely manner in a family’s community.Provide an integrated and responsive therapeutic suite of services including individual and family counselling and group work where appropriate to children and their family.Ensure Collaborative Family Decision Making is applied whenever a critical decision about a child’s safety, belonging or wellbeing is required. This includes assessment, planning, monitoring and review of activities.Support parents to develop the practical skills required to care for their child, improve the safety of the family home environment and strengthen the attachment between parent and children within a strengths-based and evidence-informed practice framework.Report and case note the work undertaken with individuals and families in a timely manner and according to deadlines.Attend and actively participate in regular line management and professional supervision.Hold qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, or Human Services, which provide eligibility for membership of either the Queensland Psychologists Board of Registration or the Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Counselling Association or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia.Demonstrate high-level skills in the provision of quality therapeutic interventions and framework within a case management model with families where significant child protection issues have been identified.Exhibit excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with an emphasis on effective interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.Maintain a high-level understanding and application of client case noting and record keeping.Commit to working within a professional team, with an ability to articulate the key principles and processes for good team dynamics.Our CultureOur inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Lifeline Darling Downs as you help our community in need and develop your career.
