The Role
This role is responsible for supporting course implementation and administration for leadership and management training within the Navy. This position is key within the RAN Leadership Management and Development Centre (LMDC) in providing continuity in administrative support for the delivery of Leadership Development Programs for whole of Navy. Leadership training at LMDC is a critical component of ensuring the wellbeing of our people in direct support of capability.
This position provides continuity of training support procedures assuring implementation of training across uniform posting cycles. Administration Officers work alongside professional Naval Officers and Sailors in a dynamic, integrated environment to support the facilitation of Defence training.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
* Pre-course administration - assisting in coordinating course outlines.
* Managing training - learning resources and learning spaces.
* Logistical support of travel and accommodation requirements.
* Management of learner administration through data entry and administration.
The Administration Officer role functions under limited direction to perform and achieve straightforward procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to understand and comply with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence Mission and Policy requirements.
About our Team
This position is based in Mosman NSW at LMDC-E but supports training activity at LMDC-W in HMAS Stirling as well. The APS 3 Administration Officer of LMDC reports directly to the Course Implementation Officer – East (CIO-E) for individual management and administration purposes. This means that the CIO-E is the direct supervisor and provides support. The Navy Divisional System is a framework of personnel management and support, which the APS 3 is a part of. Additionally, both CIO- East and West will provide daily routines and work tasks to the Administration Officer as required.

Problem solving skills, practical personnel administration and previous experience working with executives; ideally in a training environment is highly desirable although training is available to the right applicant. The successful candidate will be able demonstrate reliable interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
