What are we looking for
Manual Medium Rigid Licensed Driver for local Hobart deliveries and collections, whilst also being trained as a backup for BOC Gases delivery runs in the greater Hobart region.
About Us
Road Runners is Tasmanian owned and part of the Chas Kelly Transport (CKT) group. In addition to statewide pick up and delivery services we also provide drivers to service BOC Gases deliver runs in CKT owned trucks across the Hobart region.
The Work
We have a position to fill at Road Runners Hobart as as PUD driver, whilst also being trained as a backup driver for BOC Gases, at Risdon Road, New Town. You would be loading and unloading a variety of freight - mostly cartons and pallets as a PUD driver, and portable gas bottles at BOC delivering to a variety of locations. You would be delivering these products to a range of business and residential customers. For the BOC, a purpose built medium rigid truck would be provided for the work with a rear tail gate lift to unload and load single bottles at sites. New starters would be provided with on-the-job training and induction and be accompanied by an experienced operator until deemed competent to operate alone. Starting as full time / casual and then the opportunity to move to full time / permanent after successfully passing the probation period.
The Person
We are looking for people with the flexibility to work across our operations 5 days per week. A person who communicates openly and has a willingness to learn and develop new skills and abilities to suit our customer demands. A person who can step up to meet the seasonal work demands and hours and possess the following:
• A minimum of a Medium Rigid licence (manual)
• A forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
• Fit and healthy
• Be flexible with work hours during periods of high demand
• Committed to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Willingness to maintain a high standard of vehicle presentation.
• Drive professionally and take responsibility behind the wheel
