· Growing manufacturer of specialised panel products for the rail industry

· Bayswater location

· Commencing as casual (usually 38 hours/week), with potential for permanent

This role involves:

· Always following OHS rules and procedures.

· Panel cutting

· Manufacture of flat and shaped ‘sandwich’ panels using adhesives, moulds & presses

· Assembly of components to panels

· Finishing operations including trimming, sanding, painting and edge sealing

· Adhesive bonding of components to panels according to detailed procedures.

· Some ability to read technical drawings

· Keeping written records and performing basic calculations.

· Following checklists and keeping detailed written records

· Product visual inspections: an eye for visual quality is highly desirable.
For example, ability to judge colour matches, to see fine scratches or imperfections etc.

· Working to production time targets, and an ability to deal with production deadlines.

· Cooperating with the rest of the team, with a positive attitude.

· Always keeping the work area well-organised and tidy

Essential requirements for this role:

· Dedication to working safely and following all safety procedures

· Experience working in a factory production environment

· Experience working with production deadlines

· Excellent tool skills and hand finishing skills

· High motivation to learn new processes and skills

· Attention to detail

· Ability to follow written procedures and checklists

· Energetic and cooperative attitude

· Flexibility: willingness to change activities and jobs day to day, week to week.

· Continuous improvement mindset: always thinking about how to do things better/smarter.

Desirable but not essential:

· Specific experience with adhesive bonding

· Experience with power tools such as saws, drills, routers, sanders

Formal qualifications are not essential, however if you have worked in one of the following areas you could be just the person we are looking for: cabinetmaker, furniture maker, carpenter, highly experienced handyperson.
