Our Journey:
AAU is a general medical/surgical unit which provides care for patients with, but not limited to, cardiac, renal and general medical and surgical conditions. AAU is a rapid assessment and management ward, comprised of a multidisciplinary leadership model which drives collaboration of care to treat and recover patients within 24 to 72hrs of their admission.
Having closed during COVID, we are now reopening our service and recruiting a new team of nurses to support our patients during their short stays with us.
A Day in the Life:
As a nurse in the Acute Assessment Unit, you will be working in a fast paced unit where we see a rapid turnover of patients. You will gain experience caring for patients with varying presentations, ensuring they are able to leave our unit in a timely manner.
You will be responsible for undertaking clinical training to deliver a high standard of care and engage in portfolio management associated with the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
We have ongoing full and part time opportunities for those who can work across a 24/7 roster.
What You Bring:
You are an experienced RN with experience in acute hospital settings.. You are a dedicated and compassionate nurse who is enthusiastic about further developing your clinical skills and you seek support and mentoring from those around you.
1. You have previous experience in acute setting
2. Your clinical judgement is second to none and you can think critically in all situations
3. A willingness to learn & grow your leadership capabilities through commitment to a portfolio

What you need:
7. Current AHPRA registration is required for these roles
8. Applicants should hold proven, recent experience in acute clinical care and have experience managing patients with diverse and complex health conditions

9. You will be a member of a newly established team, responsible for contributing to the delivery of evidence based practice ensuring the highest level of care is provided to our patients.
10. Professional Development will be encouraged with access to undertake Post Graduate Certificate in General Medicine/ Surgery made available on an annual basis
11. You will see a diverse range of presentations, allowing you to develop your clinical skills across both the Medical and Surgical specialties
