What you'll do
The purpose of this role is to provide tailored support for vulnerable Aboriginal people within established program parameters, while being responsive to individual and community needs. The Aboriginal Service Support Specialist within the Services Our Way (SOW) program works directly with clients with complex needs, local service providers and community networks to ensure a holistic response is provided.
Essential duties include:
* Working within a team delivering tailored support to vulnerable Aboriginal individuals and families in targeted locations, under the direction of the Place Manager, within a trauma-informed framework
* Effectively establish trust and work with vulnerable clients to identify and respond flexibly to individual and family needs within defined program guidelines and in partnership with other service providers
* Continuously evaluate practices to ensure alignment with program guidelines, and foster a culture of support and improvement
* Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across service providers and the AHO, and engage in local networks
* Maintain an understanding of regional issues that may impact program outcomes
* Balance varied community and client needs with program guidelines and priorities to meet client and program outcomes
Essential requirements
* Current NSW Driver's Licence
* Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) is essential per the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012

* Ability to work autonomously and in a team
* Ability to liaise with a wide range of people
* Empathetic nature with ability to make balanced decisions
* Willingness to travel within Local Government Areas covered by SOW
