Here at the Lauriston Swim School, our Learn to Swim instructors are responsible for delivering structured in water classes for children aged 4-15 years old, focusing on water safety and stroke development.
Learn to Swim Teacher – Responsibilities
To be successful in the role, you will have the following experience and qualifications:
AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety
CPR Certificate
Experience in instructing LTS programs and delivering skills-specific lesson plans is desirable
Excellent communication skills and ability to demonstrate a variety of aquatic skills to children of all abilities
Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills
First Aid qualifications are looked upon favourably, but not essential.

You would be able to complete your AUSTSWIM observational hours here at the Lauriston pool, with a high prospect for ongoing employment.
Our Aquatic Centre rules require employees to be a minimum 17 years of age as a Learn to Swim Teacher.
Pool Lifeguard
The Pool Lifeguard is responsible for supervising the safety of patrons in the pool area as well as identifying and responding to potential risks and taking appropriate action to reduce those risks.
Pool Lifeguard – Qualifications
Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
Experience as a Pool Lifeguard essential
Current First Aid Certificate
Current CPR Certificate
Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills
Our Aquatic Centre rules require employees to be a minimum 18 years of age as a Pool Lifeguard.
Both roles require an Employee Working with Children Check.
