**About the Role**:
The Wildlife Ecologist works with a diverse range of partners and networks to develop high quality and practical, scientific evidence-based policies, guidelines and strategies and provides advice to the public on wildlife matters. They provide high level internal advice and represent the department on a variety of working groups and taskforces.
The role works closely with stakeholders to effectively manage native and introduced wildlife and biosecurity issues. It has a key role in planning and facilitating the development of integrated intervention strategies and for raising community awareness and support for wildlife management.
It coordinates, assists, and delivers on:
- policy development
- statutory processes
- project planning
- monitoring/ surveys
- training
- data collection, management and analysis, and
- communications (including webpages, fact sheets and media).
Come and work with the Wildlife Programs team on managing wildlife within South Australia.
Degree in the field of science, ecology, biodiversity management, natural resource management (or related field) is required.

**Contract**:
Contract for up to 30 December 2025
**Special Conditions**:
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties.
- A current class 'C' driver's licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- Inter and intrastate and remote area travel may be required, including travel in light aircraft and work outside of the normal hours of work.
- A current First Aid Certificate is desirable.
**Remuneration**:
PO2 $88,255 min - $97,667 max p.a.
