The Off-Platform Content Specialist plays a critical role in evolving News Corp Australia’s content strategy in response to shifting audience behaviours and platforms. Sitting within the Platform Content Strategy team, this role focuses on building future-ready content skillsets across brands, playing a key role in enabling newsrooms/brands to adapt to emerging formats, storytelling techniques, and platform-native workflows. While vertical video currently represents a key growth area, this role is designed to evolve alongside platform, audience and technological changes, ensuring the organisation is equipped to respond to emerging content opportunities. Responsibilities Content Strategy Execution Support the Head and Senior Manager, Platform Content Strategy in delivering News Corp Australia’s off-platform strategy and priority initiatives. Work with our newsrooms and brand teams to operationalise content strategies. Identify opportunities to optimise content for discovery, engagement, and monetisation across platforms. Support internal consultation across the organisation, ensuring insights and trends convert into tangible editorial and production outcomes. Support governance workflows and systems across off-platform tools. Newsroom Brand Enablement Build off-platform capabilities across our newsrooms and brand teams. Deliver structured training, coaching, and hands-on support across storytelling formats and production workflows. Help develop scalable learning frameworks, playbooks, and best practice toolkits. Platform Innovation Opportunity Development Monitor evolving platform ecosystems, audience behaviours, and competitor innovation. Identify emerging content opportunities across social, AI, search, and distributed platforms. Support testing of new platform tools, monetisation opportunities, and distribution features. Insights, Performance Optimisation Analyse content performance across formats and platforms to identify growth drivers. Measure the impact of capability initiatives and experimental pilots. Support optimisation strategies that improve reach, engagement, and monetisation outcomes. Who are you? You're an off-platform and social media native who moves confidently in evolving landscapes and can collaborate widely across a large organisation. An in-depth understanding of digital video content and social platforms. Youʼll play a key role in ensuring News Corp maximises the value of our content off-platform, to help our journalism serve more Australians, more often. 3 years of experience in social content strategy, vertical video, and platform management, ideally within a media or publishing environment. Ability to coach and provide hands-on training to our newsrooms and brands, optimising content and workflows in line with the enterprise strategy. Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with tools for social media management, content production, and analytics (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Emplifi, Cerby, Google Analytics, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva or AI tools). Experience managing data, reporting, and governance processes across large-scale organisations is advantageous.
