**The Role**:

This position is responsible for supporting power and gas related businesses within Trading & Supply Australia (T&S Au).
While principally focused on working with the T&S Au trading teams to deliver business targets, the role will also work closely with the QGC, Renewable & Energy Supply (R&ES), global Shell Energies, and Shell Risk and Finance.
The role will operate in a fast-paced environment involving substantial dollar value deals with significant complexity.
**What's the role?**
Specific responsibilities include the following:
- Build and maintain energy market hourly productions models and datasets using PLEXOS software and provide pricing, analysis, and interpretation in collaboration with Shell internal teams or external consultants.
- Contribute to the development of in-house modelling capabilities, for business and/or strategic analysis by leveraging the outputs from the PLEXOS models.
- Quantifying and disseminating long-term power scenarios in collaboration with Shell internal teams.
- Undertake ad hoc qualitative & quantitative analysis and modelling in support of trading and project development teams.
- Liaising with various teams and stakeholders from Strategy, Trading, Project Development, Risk, Finance, etc.

**What we need from you**
We are keen to speak to individuals with the following:
- Experience with PLEXOS power market modelling software (Essential).
- Degree in numerate discipline/s (e.g. business/economics/ engineering) advantageous.
- High proficiency with Excel and programming languages (Python, SQL, VBA).
- Proven experience in power commodity trading and/or trading support within the Australian NEM. Experience with AEMO Infoserver.
- Proven experience in power market analysis, particularly on development of scenarios, dispatch analysis, consideration of different revenue streams (e.g. capacity remuneration mechanisms, balancing and ancillary services markets, policy impact).
- Good understanding of the commercial and technical attributes of generation and storage technologies.
- Knowledge of energy regulation, and specifically power market regulation in NEM. Exposure to project development of renewable assets, and/or financial analysis of renewable assets.
- Excellent conceptual and critical thinking skills. A high capacity to deal with complex, multi-dimensional and ambiguous issues.
- Strong written and verbal presentation skills, ability to present complex results to different audiences.
- Self-starter, independent and proactive with a desire to challenge status quo and retain independence of thought.
