About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate mental health professional to join our team in Mackay.
* Build daily living skills and support clients in achieving their goals.
* Strengthen social connections and engage with local services and community supports.
* Support clients in developing confidence and independence for the future.
Key Responsibilities
* Purposefully engage with clients using evidence-based techniques, including brief intervention, motivational interviewing, coaching, family inclusive practice, trauma-informed practice, and conflict resolution.
* Plan and develop group work programs that promote client recovery and transition back to their natural community.
* Support family and carer roles through education, information, and referrals.
* Establish linkages and relationships with local services and organizations to provide comprehensive support to clients.
Flexibility is essential, as you will work across a 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends, and sleepovers.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in mental health, psychology, social work, occupational therapy, or other related fields.
* Proven experience working with people with mental health issues, complex needs, and interacting with families and carers.
* Proven capability to implement therapeutic frameworks and practices, including risk mitigation, trauma-informed care, and family inclusive practice.
* Hold current first aid and CPR certification.
* Ability to provide proof of vaccination against vaccine-preventable diseases or willingness to obtain required vaccinations.
