Overview
You can create a unique and lasting impact on the people of NSW through leading the team that delivers logistics for Sydney Trains.
As part of the Sydney Trains Engineering and Maintenance branch, you will report to the Deputy Executive Director Commercial and Supply Chain. In this critical role you will lead a number of functions that are critical to the success of Sydney Trains, including:
* The Supply Chain for all infrastructure - Lead the development and implementation of logistics, provisioning and engineering support strategies aligned to maintenance and refurbishment programs. Establish frameworks to ensure materials, equipment and facilities support routine, condition-based and emergency maintenance
* Management of all light and heavy vehicles for Sydney Trains, and compliance to regulatory requirements including site environmental and Heavy Vehicle National Law legislation.
* Leadership of the operating Bombo Quarry and Chullora Ballast Recycling Centre, which produces ballast and other materials for the network and industry.
* Leadership of the Rail Equipment Centre, a facility which manufactures and tests track components, Overhead Wire components and signalling electronics, together with a number of fleet and rollingstock components.
* Leadership and management of the Chullora Rail Precinct which houses numerous tenants all working towards supporting the network.
* Leadership and management of Plant and Equipment to support Sydney Trains.

About You
You are a people leader with a deep understanding and knowledge of supply chain and logistics.
* You bring extensive experience in managing complex logistics operations, ideally within a rail, transport or infrastructure maintenance environment.
* You bring strong analytical capability and financial acumen, with the ability to interrogate data, financial information and insights to inform sound decision‑making.
* You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills to optimise logistics processes and identify areas for improvement
* You have advanced skills in data analysis, forecasting and KPI reporting
* You have a sound understanding of logistics technologies, systems and industry best practices
* You bring knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and compliance requirements, especially Heavy Vehicle National Law legislation.
* You have had exposure to ballast recycling.
* You have had exposure to manufacturing processes or facilities.
* You bring a working knowledge of the management of plant and equipment.
* You bring extensive experience leading highly skilled teams, growing team maturity and capability and maximising their performance to deliver complex program management.
* You bring strong experience in change management, and helping teams move forward with news ways of working.
* You can move seamlessly between high‑level strategy and operational detail.
* Through disciplined analysis and financial oversight, you provide confidence in planning assumptions, funding submissions and performance outcomes, and support senior leaders to understand trade‑offs, risks and opportunities.
