Komatsu Underground is seeking a career-defining Team Leader (Workshop Supervisor) for our Fabrication department in Rutherford, NSW, Australia.
This role will manage workshop responsibilities and requirements to complete OE and rebuilds of Komatsu (Joy) underground mining equipment. You'll have demonstrated the ability to manage teams across multiple projects, with equipment being completed according to customers' specifications.
This role works hand-in-hand with the project management, engineering, and planning teams to ensure world-class mining gear is delivered to the highest quality, on time. Key Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrate commitment to safety
2. Manage daily operations of the Fabrication section within the Workshop
3. Manage resource utilisation to achieve successful project/job outcomes
4. Implement, monitor, and review systems, policies, and procedures
5. Encourage a flexible workforce and a culture of continuous improvement
6. Liaise with employees and management to develop relationships conducive to successful project completion
7. Good knowledge and understanding of AS3000 standard
8. Ensure quality systems and workmanship are adhered to
9. Assist in the development and maintenance of a zero-harm culture
Minimum Requirements:
1. Trade certificate qualification
2. Solid experience in a team supervisory/frontline leadership role
3. Considerable post-trade experience in a relevant industry or trade role
4. Good knowledge and understanding of underground mining equipment an advantage
5. Excellent communication and leadership skills
6. WHS and First Aid Certificates desirable
7. Computer literacy with experience using SAP and Gantt charts highly desirable
8. Demonstrated experience managing resource utilisation
9. Commitment to driving a safety culture
10. Flexibility to supervise extended shift and weekend work patterns when required
