In this role, you'll develop innovative analytical tools, contribute to methodological advances in evolutionary biology, and work in a collaborative, intellectually stimulating environment. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your computational expertise, engage with cutting-edge research, and make a meaningful impact across the research lifecycle.Key responsibilities will include:* **Research Delivery:** Undertake advanced research activities, applying specialist technical expertise and contributing to study design, protocols, and research outputs.* **Technical & Analytical Support:** Apply and maintain technical skills, including equipment setup, adjustment, and routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.* **Documentation & Data Management:** Maintain accurate records of experiments, methodologies, and outcomes, ensuring clear documentation for reproducibility.* **Safety & Continuous Improvement:** Promote a proactive safety culture and contribute to ongoing improvements in research practices and processes.**About You*** A degree in Science or a related discipline, with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.* Demonstrated research expertise in specialist techniques, including **Julia programming** and **stochastic processes**, with the ability to apply these to evolutionary research.* Advanced technical capability in programming (Julia and Linux environments), or the ability to rapidly acquire and apply these skills in a research setting.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise, and meet deadlines while working both independently and collaboratively.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to produce clear documentation and engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia.
