Role Overview
The successful candidate will be involved in horticultural duties, including grounds and gardens maintenance, weed control, and technical expertise. The role requires the ability to work effectively as a member of a team and comply with sustainability practices.
About You
We are looking for a candidate who is eligible to enrol in the Certificate III in Parks and Gardens TAFE trade course. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as a demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge in horticulture and be willing to learn and develop their skills.
Responsibilities
As an Apprentice Horticulturist, you will be responsible for carrying out horticultural duties, including:
* General grounds and gardens maintenance
* Weed control using approved chemicals
* Technical expertise and advice to labouring resources
* Assisting with supervising and training of apprentices
* Undertaking landscaping projects within grounds and exhibits
* Bush regeneration and revegetation in and around Taronga premises
