The Role
Working directly with the Co-CEO, this role will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, security, and optimisation of AIM’s IT systems, networks, and cloud services. Your work will directly support the growing technology needs as the company expands. This role is available as Full-time or Part-time, with flexibility in working days. You will play a key role supporting AIM’s IT function onsite.
Key Responsibilities
- Cybersecurity & Essential Eight: Understand and apply the Australian Government Essential Eight framework to protect company data, perform threat analysis, manage vulnerabilities, ensure compliance, and conduct regular risk assessments
- IT Systems Management: Support the management of servers, workstations, storage, and network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs) to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability
- Microsoft 365 Administration: Support the configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) to enhance productivity and enforce security policies
- Network Setup & Maintenance: Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of LAN/WAN networks, including Wi-Fi, VLANs, firewalls, and remote access solutions
- Endpoint Security & MDM: Support the implementation and manage Intune or equivalent MDM solutions, enforce security policies, and support device management processes
- Azure & Certificate Management: Support the Administration of Azure services including Active Directory, conditional access, virtual networks, and certificate stores, ensuring compliance and secure operations
- Technical Support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to employees, troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues, and train staff on IT policies and security best practices
- Documentation & Compliance: Support the maintenance of system documentation of network diagrams, configurations, procedures, and IT policies to meet internal and regulatory standards
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and cybersecurity trends, proactively identifying and resolving technical challenges to optimise IT operations
Experience & Skills
- 3+ years’ experience supporting IT systems in government, defence, or technology sectors
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Azure, server administration, and cloud services
- Experience with network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
- Hands-on experience with MDM/Intune and certificate management
- Understanding and application of cybersecurity frameworks, including the Essential Eight
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with technical and non-technical teams

Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance (existing clearance highly regarded)
- Willingness to work onsite
- Ability to support other operational areas as needed
