Your Role
As a Service Technician, you will support the Shift Lead in team oversight and ensure all tasks are performed safely. Your responsibilities include maintenance and operational duties on electrical, instrument, mechanical, and control systems, involving installation, modification, maintenance, and repair of Vanderlande equipment on-site.
You will be based at a key customer's meat processing facility, a highly automated warehouse and distribution hub.
Your daily focus will include:
* Preventative and corrective maintenance
* Fault diagnosis on automated systems
* Using data analytics to improve system performance
* Developing automation skills
* Providing technical support to customers
This role requires working in a food-grade, sterile environment, following strict health and safety procedures.
You will coordinate with overseas colleagues, suppliers, and support hotlines and service desks available 24/7.
The shift pattern is a 12-hour rotating roster: 5 days on, 5 days off, covering days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled. The environment operates at approximately 1°C or higher.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
* Trade qualification or diploma with 3-5 years relevant experience; electrical role must hold or be able to obtain an Electrical Mechanic license
* Understanding of controls (PLC/industrial PCs), electrical/mechanical systems, software, and networks
* Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
* Strong communication skills
* Experience in logistics, postal sorting, baggage systems, or food handling facilities
* Interest in further training and development
* Reliability, honesty, and proactive attitude
* Comfort working in a sanitized, low-temperature environment
* Ability to work at heights with fall arrest systems
