Network engineer - global customer support

This role offers a chance to apply your knowledge in real-world situations, working with various industries and diverse teams. You will be part of a world-class Support team that provides quality assistance to our global customer base, ensuring their network infrastructure runs seamlessly.


Responsibilities

* Troubleshooting Network Issues: Diagnose and resolve wireless, security, switching, phone, and other network-related problems reported by customers and partners.
* Collaboration and Ownership: Work closely with the Support team to resolve network outages, misconfigurations, and complex issues, owning each issue from initial report to resolution.
* Packet Capture Analysis: Read and analyze packet captures using Wireshark to identify network issues.
* Critical Issue Resolution: Collaborate with Engineering and Management to diagnose and resolve critical escalated issues.
* Knowledge Base Contribution: Contribute to Knowledge Base articles by suggesting, editing, and writing in-depth content.
* Staying Up-to-Date: Stay updated on Meraki features and technology through training sessions, team communications, and industry trends.


Qualifications

* Fundamental Networking Protocols: Thorough understanding of fundamental networking protocols such as TCP, STP, ARP, Ethernet, OSPF, etc.
* Network Technologies: Basic experience with network technologies including firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, VLANs, and wireless networks (802.11a/b/g/n/ac).
* Previous Experience: Previous internship, work, or volunteer experience in a network lab environment is helpful.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Eagerness to Learn: Eagerness to learn and be a team player.
* Passion for Networking: Passion for networking, IT, and helping people.
* Education: Currently pursuing or holding a B.S. in Computer Networking, Information Technology, or a related field.
