With a strong reputation for reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction, Highway Help services a diverse range of passenger and heavy commercial vehicles and operates with a focus on professionalism and efficiency.As a Motor Mechanic you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
The role involves performing a wide range of mechanical repairs and services to ensure safe, reliable, and roadworthy vehicles for clients.Key Responsibilities:Inspect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in vehiclesPerform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairsRepair and replace worn or defective parts (including engines, brakes, suspension systems, cooling systems, and fuel systems)Conduct test drives and post-repair diagnostics to ensure repairs are successfulUse diagnostic tools and software to identify issues in vehicle systemsMaintain accurate job records and complete service reportsEnsure all repairs comply with safety and quality standardsMaintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop and toolsLiaise with customers when necessary to explain vehicle issues and repair optionsAdhere to company policies, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.Requirements:Certificate III & IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent)Minimum 2 years of recent and relevant experience as a motor mechanicSound knowledge of mechanical systems and vehicle electronicsAbility to read technical manuals and diagnostic softwareStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsValid driver's licenceAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong time management and organisational skillsGood communication and customer service skillsWorking Conditions:Workshop environment with access to all required tools and safety equipmentIncludes roadside assistance call-outs
