About the company/role: This well-known government contract testing laboratory is looking for an experienced Research Scientist that has expertise in cutting-edge method development and validation of analytical methods for biological fluids. The role is a full-time 12-month contract position.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and validating novel testing methods of biological samples on GC-MS.
Calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of GC-MS/MS.
Review scientific literature and prepare summaries of information for research projects.
Collate and statistically analyse instrument data during method development and validation of new method protocols.
Prepare progress reports and method documentation for assigned projects.
Prepare presentations for internal & external stakeholders.
Skills & experience / Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications in Chemistry or related field
Australian citizenship is required for this role
Extensive experience in mass spectrometry instrumentation – GC
Experience in method development and validation of analytical methods
Knowledge of statistical principles and their application in chemical or biochemical analysis
Good communication and organisational skills
High level of attention to detail
