The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful agricultural funds management firm with a strong reputation and proven track record. The Chief Financial Officer will have overall financial oversight of the firm and its managed investments, while providing commercial advice to operational teams, the executive team and the board.
As a key member of the leadership team, the CFO will play an active role in major business decisions and the strategic direction of the firm.
The Challenge
This role suits a senior finance executive seeking a broad, commercially focused position leading a small finance function. You will oversee core finance responsibilities while being closely involved in commercial decision‐making and strategy.
Working closely with the Managing Director and Board, key responsibilities include:
* Providing governance, strategic oversight and commercial support to the leadership team and managed investments
* Partnering with leadership to optimise company performance and execute the strategic plan
* Planning and directing the firm's long‐term financial strategy while evaluating existing plans
* Supporting the Managing Director in engaging with key investors and external stakeholders
* Enhance the effectiveness and sophistication of the budgeting, forecasting and planning processes
* Managing commercial relationships with key suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes
* Undertaking investment evaluations and providing insights to support investment and operational decisions
* Ensuring the preparation of timely financial and management reporting
* Leading improvements in systems, processes and financial controls
* Building and strengthening relationships with investors, trustees, banks and board members
* Developing and maintaining an effective performance and financial management framework
The Expertise

* A commercially focused Chief Financial Officer background, ideally within funds management
* Interest in a part‐time CFO role that complements your lifestyle and other commitments
* Strong experience implementing finance best practice across reporting, strategy and operational efficiency
* Proven ability to partner with operational teams and provide commercial support
* Agricultural or adjacent sector experience is advantageous but not essential
