Network Fabric Engineer
The Network Fabric Engineering team at AWS is responsible for designing, building, and operating the global network infrastructure that supports our customers and business units. As a Network Development Engineer on this team, you will play a critical role in building, deploying, and scaling the Amazon networks that support AWS services, customers, and other business units across multiple global datacenters.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and optimize existing technology to deliver high-performance, reliable, and secure networking solutions. You will have the chance to work closely with automation teams to define tools that enable scalable networks, lead network projects in areas such as network sustaining engineering, deployment/implementation, scaling, technology refresh, best practices application, and/or network optimization. Additionally, you will operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, platforms, performance, and configurations issues, including low-level application interaction, Unix systems, and new-age networking software tools.

About the Role
- Develop, implement, and sustain large-scale network infrastructure to support AWS services and customers
- Work closely with automation teams to define tools for scalable networks
- Lead network projects in areas such as sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and optimization

Requirements
- Experience in a network-focused hands-on technical role working with IP routing protocols/technologies and platforms in large-scale data center and/or WAN network environments
- Developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network and/or networking systems experience
- Automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, Server Load Balancing, and Network Security architecture and core technologies such as IP, TCP, OSPF/IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, Server Load Balancers, Firewalls
- Experience with one or more of the following router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms: Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, Arista, Brocade, Extreme, Citrix, F5, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with networking and/or systems technologies, and knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures
- A relevant degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience in a large-scale network environment
