Oral Health Service in Central Australia (OHSCA) provides a range of oral health services, community education programs and targeted services to clients with chronic diseases and special needs. OHSCA is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and collaborates with the Menzies School of Health Research and the Australian Research Centre for Population Oral Health in multi-centre research programs.
As a Dental Officer (D1-3) you provide high-quality oral health clinical services to eligible client groups both adults and children in urban, rural and remote areas. This involves undertaking a primary health care approach to oral health care, including engagement of clients in treatment planning and the promotion of effective self-care
As a Senior Dental Officers (SD1-3) you will actively contribute as a member of the oral health team including carrying out general anaesthetic services, fostering a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and contributing to Oral Health Service through the supervision and development of students.
Clinicians are also required to continuously develop and maintain a high level of clinical knowledge, skills and competence in acute and primary oral health care. As well as actively participate in professional development activities, Continuous Quality Improvements (CQI) programs, following Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces
To be successful, you require a degree in Dentistry registrable with the Dental Board of Australia in the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and professional oral health knowledge and experience, in client engagement and treatment planning.
