Galilee School is seeking a caring, resilient and values driven leader to head its Student Support program. This is a rare opportunity to join the school during an exciting period of growth.
The Head of Student Support is a key leadership role, supporting students with complex educational, social and mental health needs and helping them reengage with learning and build positive futures.
Working closely with the Head of Teaching and Learning and the Principal, you will lead the planning and delivery of high-quality case management and student support, while contributing to the school's strategic direction.
You will supervise and mentor a dedicated team of youth support workers and work collaboratively with families, service providers and stakeholders. This role requires confidence, organisation and compassion, with the ability to balance strong boundaries with genuine care and lead effectively through challenging situations.
Compensation: $143,923.08 per year + $6,000 per year Special School Allowance
Key Requirements
Maintain current 'Working with Vulnerable People' registration
Qualifications and experience in Youth Work case management or similar.
Relevant recent experience in a leadership and management position(s) within a similar context.
Willingness to adhere to and work within the strategic vision, direction, and philosophy of the organisation.
A passion and drive and demonstrated experience in working with vulnerable, "at-risk" and disadvantaged young people.
Ability to facilitate a case management process sensitively and effectively with a range of diverse vulnerable and 'at risk' clients, including youth and families who have complex issues or needs and require a range of support services.
Demonstrated experience and skills of conflict resolution and ability to build influential and supportive relationships with young people and their families.
Well-developed communication skills (both oral and written), including liaison, negotiation, motivational, case planning, reporting, and the development and delivery of youth focused programs.
Ability and experience in applying and incorporating best practice research to the daily operation of programs, preparation of funding submission and program and policy development.
High level interpersonal skills and cooperative work practices and the ability to lead and manage a positive and cohesive team
Possession of high level organisational, planning and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a close team.
The ability to participate in physical demonstration of tasks and physical activities as well as exposure to environments and varying terrains.
Current Driver's License and ability to drive vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions.
