About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactivePayroll Officer to support our Senior Payroll Partner in delivering accurate and timely payroll services. This role is essential in ensuring smooth payroll operations across our Australian and New Zealand entities, supporting approximately 300 employees across fortnightly and monthly cycles
Key Responsibilities
* Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including onboarding, data integrity checks, leave/payroll code updates, and termination payments.
* Respond to employee payroll queries and reconcile monthly leave records.
* Ensure compliance with Australian and New Zealand legislative requirements, including payroll tax, superannuation, and PAYG.
* Prepare and process year-end reconciliations, movement sheets, and end-of-month reports.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, managing payroll-related risks and responsibilities.
* Contribute to ad hoc projects, presentations, and other duties as required.

Selection Criteria
Essential Experience and Knowledge
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll processing.
Desirable:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or a related discipline.
* Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, including Workers Compensation and Payroll Tax.
* Experience usingAurionpayroll software.
* Solid knowledge of payroll systems, employee benefits, and leave requirements.
* High-level Excel skills and a flexible, can-do attitude.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Experience working with New Zealand payroll legislation is highly desirable.
