As a reporter, you'll be at the forefront of breaking news, chasing down leads and uncovering exclusive angles that set the agenda for the state of NSW. You have the option of working in Sydney or from the nationa's capital in Canberra. You'll be the one everyone else follows, finding the stories no one else has and delivering content that sparks conversation and drives engagement across multiple platforms. 
Your day-to-day will be a fast-paced mix of sourcing, writing, and producing multiplatform journalism that millions of Australians will read, view, share, and talk about. You'll use your networks to stay ahead of the curve, spotting trends and turning them into stories that matter. With an eye for analytics, you'll follow up popular stories with fresh angles, ensuring your work continues to captivate audiences and deliver results. 
This role isn't just about reporting—it's about creating journalism that stands out. You'll pitch and deliver unique content that drives click-throughs and engagement, all while working in a collaborative and high-energy environment. Flexibility is key as you'll be required to work some weekends and step outside regular hours to cover special events, ensuring The Daily Telegraph remains at the heart of the action. 
Who are you? 
Successful news reporter with at least five years experience in a busy digital newsroom 
Passionate about breaking stories and finding exclusive angles on the topics dominating the national agenda 
Highly motivated and full of ideas, with strong contacts that help you break yarns 
Strong writing skills and an understanding of how to use headlines and pictures to hook readers. A desire to have your stories widely-read is a must 
Sound working legal knowledge 
Comfortable working independently and sourcing your own stories 
An interest in engaging with and owning the finance topics News consumers love 
Understand SEO and analytics
