WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are seeking an experienced and values‑driven professional to join ADRA Australia as our People & Culture Manager. In this leadership role, you will guide the People & Culture strategy and operations to build a high‑performing organisation. You will implement strategic HR systems and initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture, enhance personnel performance, and support staff wellbeing.
Some of the duties include:
Lead the development and delivery of ADRA's People & Culture strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
Implement effective HR systems covering recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.
Champion staff wellbeing and engagement and enhance performance and talent development
Oversee HR administration
Commitment to ADRA's purpose, values, and a positive work culture.
Commitment to a Christian work environment and code of conduct that is respectful of the beliefs and practices of the Seventh‑day Adventist Church.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in senior or leadership roles within Human Resources, demonstrating capability in organisational development and HR system implementation.
Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills that foster a healthy, collaborative work environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present, influence, and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability in planning, organising, and delivering high‑quality outcomes aligned to organisational goals.
Performance management and coaching: proven skills in overhauling appraisal processes, training managers in effective feedback techniques, and guiding performance improvement plans.
Compliance and policy management: strong knowledge of National Employment Standards (NES), Fair Work legislation, and organisational policies, with experience in reviewing and updating HR policies.
Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain HR systems, processes, and employee wellbeing initiatives.
Work Health & Safety leadership: ability to equip and support WHS Coordinators, implement effective WHS work plans, provide training, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with Australian WHS laws across office and field contexts.
Demonstrated experience in leading change initiatives, managing complex workplace matters, and resolving conflict with professionalism and sensitivity.
Adaptability: flexibility to handle a dynamic work environment and changing priorities.
Must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency with valid work rights.
Postgraduate studies in Human Resources, Organisational Development, Leadership, or a related field.
Experience working within a values‑driven environment, particularly a faith‑based or not‑for‑profit organisation.
Experience implementing HRIS, digital workflows, or modernising HR processes to improve organisational efficiency.
