Job Overview
This is a pivotal position within our organization that requires an exceptional engineer with expertise in Fiber Optic Gyroscopes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, design and lead the integration of high-performance navigation systems across defence, aerospace, and autonomous sectors.
* Oversee the development and scaling up of FOG manufacturing processes for high-volume production.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and production efforts.
* Analyze and troubleshoot test data to continually enhance FOG performance.
* Establish efficient testing processes and tooling for fibre optic coils.
* Guide production engineering teams with metrics, SPC implementation, and technical support.
* Remain current with technological advancements in photonics and inertial navigation.
* Maintain a strong focus on customer needs and application performance in demanding environments.
Required Skills and Attributes:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physics, Optics, Photonics, or Electrical Engineering.
* Proven expertise in Fiber Optic Gyroscopes and their underlying principles (e.g., Sagnac effect).
* Experience in designing and integrating electro-optical systems.
* Deep knowledge of light sources, optical fibres, modulators, and detectors.
* Familiarity with scaling up precision manufacturing processes.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
* Proactive, ownership-driven mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
