The Health, Safety, and Compliance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health, safety, and compliance programs specific to the transportation of ammonium nitrate. This role ensures adherence to all relevant regulations, including hazardous materials transport regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and environmental requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with drivers, operations staff, and management to promote a culture of safety and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct a comprehensive risk assessment of the scope of operations, including mining operations, working environment, current work practices and proceduresAssist site personnel in the development of site and task specific risk assessments, operational procedures and work instruction and conduct ongoing reviews of the effectiveness and compliance to risk control measures.Lead and conduct incident investigations, including the preparation of the investigation report.Conduct site compliance inspections and HSE audits.Assist in the management of Workers Compensation claims and Rehabilitation Plans/ProgramsProvide immediate support for incident investigations, hazard management and follow-up on closeout actionsIdentify and implement effective HSE initiativesQualification & ExperienceMinimum of 3 years’ experience in mining or heavy transport industryPrevious industry specific experience in a Health & Safety or Management roleSafety or related qualification from a tertiary institutionA thorough understanding of safety within heavy transport industryAbility to undertake large scale risk assessmentsAbility to develop tactical and strategic plans to address safety issues.Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsA good working knowledge of Microsoft word applicationsIf you would like the opportunity to join one of the fastest-growing Ports, Transport and Logistics companies in Australia, then please click on the "Apply" button below or email our recruitment team at jobs@qube.com.auAt Qube we value diversity in the workplace and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds.
