Job Description

Lacco Enterprises is a busy skip bin and waste-management business serving the Far North Queensland region. We operate in a fast-paced environment with daily truck movements, skip bin deliveries, collections, and a yard where waste is sorted using machinery.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Clerk to support our finance and operations teams. This role is essential to ensuring accurate transaction processing, timely invoicing, and effective administrative coordination across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including supplier invoices for fuel, repairs, machinery servicing, and operational expenses.
* Prepare and issue customer invoices for skip bin hires, waste disposal, and transport services.
* Record, allocate, and reconcile daily financial transactions.
* Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and internal accounts.
* Verify driver job sheets, bin movement records, weighbridge/tipping dockets, and service documentation.
* Assist with preparing journal entries.
* Support month-end tasks, including financial summaries, reconciliations, and reporting.
* Follow up overdue customer accounts and assist with credit control.
* Maintain filing systems, ledgers, registers, and digital records.
* Liaise with drivers, operations staff, suppliers, and customers.
* Provide general administrative support to assist operational efficiency.


Required Skills & Qualifications

We require applicants with previous experience in accounts, bookkeeping, or finance administration. Experience in transport, construction, waste management, or similar operational industries is highly regarded.

Applicants should possess a strong proficiency with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or similar) and have a high level of numerical accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment are essential. Effective communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external customers/suppliers are also required.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information professionally is necessary.
