Joining the team at BlockTexx represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a key member of a new innovative and bold textile recovery business which is committed to making a real impact on improving our environment. BlockTexx is a Clean Technology Company which diverts unwanted textiles away from landfill and converts the fabrics into high value raw materials for reuse. PolyTexx, our recycled polyester and CellTexx, our recycled cellulose products are recovered from textiles and clothing via a commercial scale, patent‑pending fibre separation process and transformed into valuable raw materials.
The state‑of‑the‑art textile recovery facility is located in the Logan region of Brisbane. The facility is designed to process up to 10,000 tonnes during the coming years of operation and is currently scaling its production capacity.
About the Role
This newly created and integral role will provide direct support to the Owners and Management Team with the day to day running of the business and provide you with opportunities to add value and contribute to the ongoing success of the business.
Your primary focus will be to cover all the end‑to‑end financial administration and accounting needs of the Company as well as ensuring a range of statutory taxation, compliance and governance requirements are met.
Responsibilities
* Process and reconcile a range of accounts and financial activity including General Ledgers, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Banking.
* Process Payroll and associated payments, such as superannuation.
* Prepare monthly financial management reports including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, Budgets and Cash Flow Forecasts as well as statutory returns such as Business Activity Statements & Income Activity Statements.
* Assist management with analysing and controlling costs including identifying, developing and implementing improvements to the company's systems and processes.
* Undertake Company Secretarial tasks such as provide administrative support for shareholder and investor meetings and correspondence as well as complete any statutory ASIC documentation.
* Liaise with the Company's External Accountants in relation to all statutory taxation and legal requirements.
* Manage third party relationships for the outsourcing of specialist services such as IT support.
Key Position Requirements
A relentless curiosity to understand the 'why' as well as focusing on the 'how'.
* Hands‑on accounting and financial administration experience, including the ability to prepare all reconciliations, financial reports and budgets.
* Effective analytical and problem‑solving skills and a high attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* High level of drive and initiative, including the ability to develop and implement improvements to financial processes and where appropriate changes to business processes.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and to complete a range of reports and documentation.
* Highly developed computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (in particular, Excel spreadsheets) as well as accounting software (in particular Xero).
* Degree qualifications in the Accounting Field.
* Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualifications or progressing towards the attainment of these qualifications.
