About the Position:

The Chef position at Festival India is a full-time role that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase culinary expertise in Indian cuisine. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic kitchen setting, preparing authentic South and North Indian dishes while contributing to the restaurant’s reputation for excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including curries, biryanis, dosas, and tandoori specialties, ensuring authenticity and consistency.
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and presentation in compliance with Australian regulations.
- Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering ingredients and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with the team to develop and update menus, incorporating seasonal and customer preferences.
- Ensure timely preparation of orders for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery services.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace.

Requirements:

- Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
- Qualifications: Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery; Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management.
- Experience: Minimum 1.5 years as a Chef specializing in Indian cuisine.
- Expertise in preparing authentic Indian dishes, including South and North Indian specialties.
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Commitment to maintaining food safety and hygiene standards.
