Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to join our senior leadership team. This pivotal role will lead and manage Support Services across the organisation ensuring compliance with legislation standards and organisational policies. You will provide strategic and operational leadership to Service Managers and staff champion therapeutic and trauma-informed care principles and drive operational excellence.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director you will work closely with the Quality Risk and Compliance Team Practice Lead and other key stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes for the people we support.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage service delivery across multiple programs ensuring compliance and best practice.
Provide strategic and operational leadership to Service Managers and frontline teams.
Champion trauma-informed and therapeutic care principles across all services.
Oversee recruitment onboarding supervision and professional development of management staff.
Manage budgets and quotations in collaboration with senior leadership.
Lead incident management investigations and organisational response to critical events.
Drive cultural safety initiatives in partnership with the Aboriginal Practitioner.
Contribute to organisational strategy business planning and service development.
Ensure contract compliance and reporting obligations under funding arrangements.
Provide after-hours support as required.
What we're looking for
To be successful in the Operations Manager role at Capability you'll need to have:
Demonstrated experience in leading and managing service delivery within disability OOHC community or human services sectors.
Strong knowledge of relevant legislation standards and compliance frameworks (e.g. CYP Act).
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Excellent communication problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong financial and business acumen with professionalism front of mind.
Current WWVP registration (or ability to obtain) CYF clearance Police Check and drivers licence.
Highly Desirable
Tertiary qualifications in management social work or related fields.
Experience in corporate and individual risk management.
Experience developing and managing complex budgets and contracts
Awareness of trauma-informed care evidence-based therapeutic practice and person-centred practice.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or higher qualification in a related field (desired)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role (desired)
Proven experience in managing Staff members
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to Capability Support including but not limited to development of appropriate resources and frameworks for teams.
