Kyvalley Dairy Group is seeking an experienced and hands‐on HSES Manager to lead our Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainability programs across our integrated operations—spanning dairy farms, fresh milk processing facilities, and corporate support teams.
This is a key leadership role with safety as its primary focus. You will play a critical part in strengthening our organisational culture, elevating our HSES capability, and ensuring our business continues to protect its people, animals, consumers, and environment.
Regular travel between our Kyabram and Geelong regional sites is essential.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager Human Resources, this role is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering the full suite of HSES systems, initiatives, and programs across the Kyvalley Dairy Group.
As our HSES Manager, you will:
* Champion a consultative, safety‐first culture across all business units.
* Lead hazard management, investigations, reporting, risk controls, and continuous improvement activities.
* Strengthen organisational capability and ensure compliance with HSE, environmental, and sustainability legislation and standards.
* Oversee HSES management systems, accreditations, audits, and certification requirements.
* Drive sustainability initiatives including emissions reduction, waste management, water stewardship, resource efficiency, and regenerative agriculture practices.
* Manage critical stakeholder relationships with regulators, industry bodies, government agencies, and internal leaders.
* Support the development and delivery of training, inductions, and workforce education in HSES and sustainability.
* Provide strong, visible leadership across two regional sites—Kyabram and Geelong—with frequent travel required.
* Manage workers compensation, return‐to‐work processes, and organisational wellbeing initiatives.
About You
You are a proactive, experienced HSES leader who is passionate about driving cultural uplift and operational excellence. You bring a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial understanding, relationship strength, and an authentic hands‐on approach.
To be successful, you will have:
* Minimum Certificate IV in WHS or related discipline (Diploma or higher in HSE/Sustainability desirable).
* 5+ years' experience in HSE roles; sustainability/environmental experience highly regarded.
* Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation, environmental management systems, sustainability frameworks, and industry regulations.
* Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG, food or dairy environments.
* Practical capability in audits, risk assessments, investigations, reporting, and leadership coaching.
* Strong communication and people‐engagement skills across frontline, operational and senior leaders.
* Competency in MS Office and data reporting tools.
* Understanding of Chain of Responsibility, workers compensation, and injury management.
* A willingness and ability to travel regularly between Kyabram and Geelong to support operational teams.
