Role Summary
We are seeking a results-driven and proactive Commercial Operations Manager to take charge of our proposal development and bid strategy on a 12-month maximum term contract. In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will lead the coordination of internal stakeholders, shape compelling client submissions, and ensure each opportunity is positioned for success.

Key Responsibilities
The Commercial Operations Manager candidate will need to demonstrate the following competencies to execute the job responsibilities:
Champion safety by promoting a strong safety culture, challenging unsafe behaviors, and supporting global and regional safety initiatives.
Develop highly effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders both internally (at a global, regional and in country level and particularly with the regional management team) and externally (customers, Original Equipment Manufacturers, regulators, and industry contacts.
Lead and support cross-functional collaboration across sales, marketing, legal, operations, and finance to deliver accurate and timely proposals and business content.
Oversee end-to-end bid and proposal processes including writing, editing, compliance checks, and timely submission of high-quality documents.
Negotiate and communicate NDA and RFP terms with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment to legal, commercial and all other related Company policies
Maintain Salesforce CRM and manage contract lifecycle, ensuring proper documentation, updates, and implementation across departments.
Lead the proposal creating process including pipeline reporting, bid governance, opportunity reviews, and approvals.
Monitor industry trends and conduct analysis to support strategic decisions and develop innovative, client-focused solutions.
Assume ownership for development of focused proposal language relating to client expectations, including original writing of executive summaries and other critical components
Responsible for the administration of assigned customer contracts, including distributing awarded contracts, overseeing implementation post kick-off, maintaining accurate records in Salesforce, disseminating key information internally, coordinating contract amendments through commercial review, and preparing customer proposals in alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
Willing to take on additional tasks and travel interstate or overseas as needed to support commercial operations and business growth.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, management, marketing, or a related field.
Skills / Experience:
Minimum 5 years' experience in technical bid writing, ideally within the Defence or similar sector.
Proven ability to develop clear, concise documentation with strong technical writing and communication skills.
Strong computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office particularly with Word, Excel and Power Point, desktop publishing, and other on-line documentation software.
Strong understanding of contracts, including contractual terms and conditions.
Excellent project and time management skills; able to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and lead effectively.
