We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Associate to join our Global Financial Markets team in Sydney, with a focus on Energy and Infrastructure Financing. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in advising on a broad range of financing transactions within the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of financing transactions for energy and infrastructure projects.
* Provide expert legal advice on a variety of financing arrangements including project finance, corporate finance, acquisition finance, and structured finance.
* Manage and coordinate due diligence processes, risk assessments, and the preparation of transaction documentation.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and providing tailored solutions.
* Collaborate with partners and other associates across different jurisdictions to ensure a cohesive service offering to our clients.
* Mentor and supervise junior associates and other team members, contributing to their professional development.
* Stay abreast of market trends, regulatory changes, and innovations in the energy and infrastructure financing sectors.
* Contribute to business development activities, including pitching and presenting to potential clients.
* Participate in industry conferences and events to enhance the firm's profile and network within the sector.
Qualifications:
* Qualified lawyer with a strong academic background.
* Minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience (UK notional), ideally with a specific focus on energy and infrastructure sectors.
* Proven track record of leading complex financing transactions.
* Excellent legal, analytical, and negotiation skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to high-quality work and attention to detail.
* Admitted to practice in Australia or another common law jurisdiction.
