About Our School
St Augustine's College provides a robust P-12 Catholic education in the Augustinian tradition. Located in Augustine Heights, we are an inclusive, Catholic College offering a rounded education that supports the growth of each student. Celebrating the Augustinian core values of Unity, Love and Truth, we provide a nurturing coeducational experience that allows students and families to journey from Prep through to Year 12. Students are supported to explore their full potential as learners, and this is complemented by a rich program of co-curricular offerings. We are seeking a
Secondary Teacher
with a specialisation in
Health & Physical Education
to join our established college based in Augustine Heights. This is a genuine HPE teaching role, ideal for someone with the ability to teach Sports and Recreation to students in the Senior Years.
Location: St Augustine's College, Augustine Heights
Start date: Commencing March ****
Work hours: 30 hours/week
Salary: $86,601 - $124,725 per annum + super (commensurate with experience)
Status: Full-time Continuing

About The Opportunity
Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practice.
Teach and develop engaging Hospitality programs, including food preparation, kitchen operations, food safety and event planning, using practical, hands-on learning to equip students with industry-relevant skills.
Lead inspiring Humanities classes, such as History, Geography, Civics or Social Studies, fostering critical thinking, global awareness and strong analytical skills through inquiry-based learning.
Collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programmes and appropriate pedagogy; evaluate their effectiveness; assess and report student progress and learning outcomes; and report these to students, parents and the community.
Work collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture.
Proactively engage in professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes.
Establish positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and support their spiritual and moral development.
Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
About You
The ability to teach Sports and Recreation to Senior Years students.
Creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programmes in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
Commitment to engage with colleagues, students and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes for students.
A passion to support students' spiritual and moral development.
For this position you are not required to be Catholic.
Eligibility And Safeguarding Requirements
Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
