Job Reference: -Job Type: Full Time/PermanentClosing Date: 01 September 2025 Position Summary The Principal is looking to retire at the end of 2025 and seeks an enthusiastic Respiratory Physician to join the Practice and transition the Practice to the next generation.The Practice is a busy General Respiratory Practice located in Bega. The Principal is the sole Respiratory Physician in the Bega Valley. Bega is close to the Coast and about two and a half hours from the snowfields.It is likely that an appointment to South East Regional Hospital could be obtained. Bronchoscopies and pleural procedures are currently performed there.Participation in MDTs is established for lung cancer (The Canberra Hospital) and ILD (Royal Prince Alfred Hospital).An interest in General Medicine and participation in a General Medicine on-call roster would likely be an advantage to a SERH appointment.A role with the Bega Campus of the Rural Clinical School of the ANU may be available.The job could be full time or part time, depending upon the applicant's wishes. Responsibilities The Role is that of a Respiratory Physician who has completed Advanced Training and has acquired FRACP. Requirements The applicant is expected to demonstrate competence in fibreoptic bronchoscopy, lung ultrasound (at least to the extent required for pleural procedures), pleural aspiration, insertion of pleural catheters, and insertion of indwelling pleural catheters.
