The Company
An Australian based Engineering consultancy with a portfolio of mining projects. Currently with existing and new projects going into construction, are in need of a Construction Manager to add to the team.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager with a mechanical background to lead and oversee the successful delivery of construction activities across the mining and processing projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise in mechanical systems, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of direct reports in managing small-medium size construction packages—particularly in gold and copper mining projects
- Lead and manage all construction activities on-site, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery.
- Supervise installation of mechanical equipment including pumps, piping systems, tanks, pressure vessels, conveyors, and modular plant components.
- Ensure compliance with mechanical specifications, project scope, and HSE standards.
- Oversee QA/QC processes, inspections, and testing procedures.
- Plan and manage site logistics, resource allocation, and construction sequencing.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on construction progress, risks, and milestones.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
- Trades qualified in Mechanical
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction within the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
- Candidates with experience in gold and copper mining projects are highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, modular plant construction, and process infrastructure.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Growth mindset with a proactive approach to learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the organisation.
