The Role The Senior Network Services Consultant plays a critical role within Brennan's Managed Network Services team, serving as the primary technical lead for a key client. This role involves providing strategic network guidance, resolving complex technical issues, and ensuring optimal performance of client IT environments. As the final escalation point for networking issues, the consultant will work closely with internal teams and the client to maintain best‑practice infrastructure and deliver high‑quality service.
Responsibilities
Serve as the final escalation point for complex incidents, problems, and vendor escalations.
Work directly with client architects and senior stakeholders to influence standards, designs, and roadmaps.
Lead and mentor junior engineers through coaching, knowledge transfer, and technical oversight.
Provide strategic and deep technical advice across the network estate.
Ensure adherence to ITIL change, incident, and problem management processes.
Participate in major incident management and on‑call roster requirements.
Act as the escalation authority for Cisco ACI including fabric design, policy models, segmentation, and operations.
Partner with client architects to ensure ACI designs align to enterprise and security standards.
Provide strategic leadership and deep technical support for Cisco SD‑WAN architecture, policy, and routing design.
Troubleshoot complex performance, routing, and application experience issues.
Skills/Experience required
Strong hands‑on experience with Cisco ACI, Viptela, Meraki, Cisco routers and switches, Cisco ISE, and Zero Trust/NAC concepts.
Support security and voice faults where required.
Experience with Statseeker and Catalyst Centre is advantageous.
Firewall and F5 load balancer knowledge is beneficial.
Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standards.
Drive continual service improvement through RCA and operational optimisation.
Lead or contribute to development of new services and efficiencies.
