Disability Support Worker Job Description
We are currently recruiting for multiple Disability Support Workers to provide support to NDIS participants across Melbourne.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will work in the community providing a range of supports to participants to enable them to achieve their personal goals and build their independence.
Key responsibilities include:
* Varied duties in line with providing support to help enable the participant to achieve their goals.
* Support participants with activities of daily living.
* Support participants to access their community, build relationships, engage with activities of their choice, attend appointments and access amenities.
Essential qualifications and requirements include:
* Disability related qualifications or nursing background.
* NDIS Screening Clearance Check.
* Valid work rights in Australia.
* Current and clear National Police Check (within 12 months validity).
* Current First Aid & CPR certification.
* Employee Working with Children Check.
* A passion for client service and caring for people.
* Australian driver's license.
* Insured car.
Desirable skills and qualifications include:
* Peg feeding experience.
* Manual handling.
* Ability to cook.
* Experience supporting people with mental health issues, intellectual and/or physical disability.
* Experience with non-verbal clients.
