Join our Foster Care team and apply your admin skills to support children and foster families, making a meaningful impact in the community. The Role The Placement Liaison Officer plays a key role in supporting the Foster Care program by providing high-level administrative support to ensure smooth placement processes and ongoing compliance. Based in Seaton, with occasional travel, this position works closely with the Foster Care team and external stakeholders to coordinate referrals, maintain accurate records, manage carer compliance, and assist with training and events. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing of children and foster families within the community. This is a fixed-term (parental cover) opportunity until 25 September 2026. Key Responsibilities: Manage placement referrals, maintain placement records, and monitor referral inboxes. Liaise with Placement Services on carer capacity, vacancies, and assist in matching children with carers. Complete and track required documentation, forms, and data bases related to placements and carer compliance. Conduct screening and verification checks, including SAVA, WWCC, interstate child protection, and household safety checks. Create new client files and record placement entries in the Case Management System. What you need to bring Essential Community Services qualification or equivalent experience Demonstrated high level of customer service experience Experience in providing a broad range of administrative support with excellent attention to detail Outgoing, friendly personality with the ability to relate to and communicate with people from diverse cultures, including young children, parents, and staff Ability to work effectively within a multi-faceted team environment, along with a proven ability to work independently Clear and confident communication skills Proactive and able to use initiative Well-developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise Highly proficient in advanced Excel Excellent computer literacy, including the Microsoft Office Suite Experienced in accurate data entry Valid Department of Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check Valid Driver’s Licence Availability and ability to do some work outside of standard hours when required Desirable Experience using Penelope electronic client management system Experience working in the non-for-profit or community services sector See attached position description for full details.
