This position is available as a Teaching and Research position or Education Specialist position at the Lecturer level or as an Education Specialist position at the Associate Lecturer level.

To thrive in the Teaching and Research pathway, you are developing a strong research profile, with a focus on collaboration and contribution towards the Social Work field.

What you'll do

You will contribute to a high-quality Social Work Field Education program through the delivery of engaging, student-centred teaching in field education and placement learning, integrating theory with real-world professional practice. Continuous improvement in curriculum development will be a focus in the role as well as enhancing placement opportunities for students by building strong affiliations with industry partners.

Education Specialist pathway contributions

* Leading and enhancing scholarly teaching practice through innovation in learning and teaching
* Effectively utilising evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes for students
* Contributing to teaching excellence initiatives, grants, or recognition activities

Teaching & Research pathway contributions

* Produce quality research outputs and contribute to collaborative research activity
* Progressing or leading research initiatives and funding opportunities, dependent upon current teaching and research experience as either an Associate Lecturer or Lecturer
* Supervision of honours and postgraduate research students

What will help you succeed

To thrive in this position, you will require a qualification in social work or a related discipline, dependent upon level of appointment as well as:

* Holding membership of or be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Demonstrated experience in delivering engaged and reflective approaches to teaching that produce the best possible outcomes for students.
* High-level oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, relating well to people at all levels using diplomacy, tact and sound judgement, with an ability to build constructive and effective relationships.
* For Teaching & Research roles, demonstrated (or developing) research capability, collaboration and potential to attract funding.

Location: Toowoomba or Ipswich campus

Term: Full-time continuing appointment (37.5 hours/week)

Associate Lecturer salary range: $94,509 to $126,788 pa (includes salary range of $79,704 to $106,927 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)

Lecturer salary range: $133,256 to $157,504 pa (includes salary range of $112,381 to $132,831 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
