I have been assigned by an NHS Trust in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in Anaesthetics on either a Substantive or an NHS Fixed Term basis for 12 months.

They have 518 beds, 18 wards, a budget of circa £220m, and provide a comprehensive range of specialist, acute, obstetrics and community-based services to those who live in the three counties of Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire.

The appointee will be asked to undertake various duties, including providing a Consultant anaesthetic service for elective and emergency surgery, providing high quality patient care, minimising risks and maintaining patient safety in accordance with the GMC's Good Medical Practice, providing help in the delivery of effective services within the agreed budget, cooperating with other departments and agencies to meet the objectives of the Anaesthetic Department, working flexibly within a nominally fixed timetable, helping provide training, supervision and career development to junior doctors of all grades in the Anaesthetic Department and contributing to the education of medical and nursing students, paramedics and trainees in other specialties as required. They will also maintain effective multi-disciplinary team working & assist with clinical governance and audit duties.
