Job Summary
The Energy Projects Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing energy-related projects from initiation through completion. This role manages project scope, budgets, timelines, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder communication to ensure successful delivery of energy initiatives. Projects may include renewable energy installations, energy efficiency programs, utility infrastructure upgrades, or sustainability initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong project management experience within the energy sector and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the planning, development, and execution of energy projects (e.g., solar, wind, battery storage, energy efficiency, grid modernization, or utility infrastructure projects)
* Define project scope, goals, deliverables, schedules, and budgets
* Manage cross-functional teams, contractors, engineers, and external vendors
* Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental standards
* Oversee procurement, contract negotiations, and vendor performance
* Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies
* Coordinate with regulatory agencies, utility providers, and community stakeholders as needed
* Ensure projects meet safety standards and company policies
* Track financial performance and manage cost controls
* Support business development efforts by assisting with proposals and feasibility assessments
* Implement continuous improvement practices to enhance project delivery efficiency
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, Construction Management, Business, or related field
* 5+ years of experience managing energy, utility, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects
* Strong understanding of energy systems, regulatory frameworks, and permitting processes
* Proven experience managing project budgets and schedules
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
* Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar software)
