About the role Your day-to-day will involve:
Document Review & Legal Advice : Advise clients on subpoenaed documents, identifying Legal Professional Privilege, Public Interest Immunity, and related risks.
Serious Offender Act Applications : Prepare documents for assessors, draft chronologies, submissions, orders, and assist in preparation for hearings.
Representation : Represent clients in coronial inquests and court proceedings.
Coronial Inquests & Investigations : Review coronial briefs, draft statements, prepare written advice, confer with witnesses, and instruct at inquests.
Historical Sexual Abuse Claims : Assist with preparation for mediations and court hearings, review reports, and conduct discovery.
Litigation Management : Conduct litigation files, review evidence, and provide advice on criminal and disciplinary proceedings.
The ideal candidate At least 1 year's PQE with a demonstrable desire to work in Public Law and Litigation.
Experience or knowledge of prosecutions or criminal procedure is highly desirable.
